stylized "Sarajevo 84" insignia and 1984 Winter Olympics logo on the obverse

Pinned into the peak of the cap is a stylized gilded bronze cherry blossom

with oxidation and loss of paint evident to the zink and metal features

and to Schreiberobergefreiter (Clerical Corporal) one year later

(Franz Joseph I Type III 1866 1914 issue). A circular silver medal, the obverse depicting the rightward facing profile of Kaiser Franz Joseph I of Austria, circumscribed by his name and title in German, the reverse inscribed Der Tapferkeit within an open ended laurel wreath with a Trophy of Arms at the base, with an affixed suspension ring for suspension from its period original ribbon, measuring 31.
