Vietnam, Republic. An Armed Forces Honour Medal Of Merit, Ii Class, C.1955 Archive central medallion with raised GoldDanh d Bi Tnh Vietnam. Instituted in 1953. NCOs and Enlisted Men Issue. In silvered pot metal, measuring 39. 7 mm (w) x 55. 5 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath suspension, lightly soiled original ribbon, near extremely fine. Footnote: The medal was created on January 6, 1953, to be awarded for assistance in creating and training units of the Vietnamese armed forces, in two grades. It was awarded initially to French, later American, military.
